Into Full Bloom - Marketing Report 2007 (right click to download PDF)

Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and participation in the second annual Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival to help us celebrate the spectacular blossoming of Vancouver’s 36,000 ornamental flowering cherry trees. Special thanks to all the sponsors, community partners and dedicated volunteers who helped make the festival happen and to the Cherry Scouts for advising the festival when their neighborhoods came into bloom so that everyone could catch the amazing show the cherries put on for us this Spring! We greatly appreciated all the cultural organizations who came under the festival banner with theme related special events to enliven the festivities.

Congratulations go out to Marie Yeo of Coquitlam on winning the BC Blossom Watch Photo Contest and the grand prize of return air fare for two to Tokyo, and Danielle Scott of Vancouver for winning the free draw of two tickets to Japan at Cherry Jam Downtown both compliments of sponsor, Japan Airlines.

This year the city-wide celebration was a triumph because the festival was a true happening, an exuberant coming-together of nature and humanity.

bannerOn behalf of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival I am delighted to invite you to be a part of the second annual community celebration as we welcome in a new season. The first sign of Spring will be the installation of the festival banners on the historic Burrard Street Bridge. Watch for the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival Program Guide and the enhanced Cherry Blossom Viewing Map featuring many new neighborhood sites for admiring the blossoming our city’s 36,000 flowering cherry trees. The Program Guide and Map will be published in the Vancouver Sun’s Thursday edition of Westcoast Life in the second week of March so that you can mark your calendars with the various festival programs presented during March and April.

The 2007 Festival is scheduled to kick off the season on March 22 at Burrard SkyTrain Station with a multifaceted free lunch-time concert, Cherry Jam Downtown as the cherry trees in the greater Vancouver area begin to blossom and spring makes its dramatic return to the city.
